WALLYWHY150 - THE MODEL OF A FUTURISTIC SUPERYACHT | @ABYSYACHTING

Presented as a World Premiere at the Venice Boat Show 2023, the WallyWhy150 is the latest model in the semi-displacement line from the Wally shipyard, a brand of the Ferretti Group. Launched two years after the success of the famous WallyWhy200, this new boat is considered to be its 'little brother', even if it represents much more.

The WallyWhy150 represents a major evolution. This futuristic luxury yacht develops pioneering ideas in the range, while embellishing the main features for which the brand is renowned. With a total volume of 150GT, it offers the unique experience of being on a larger yacht. Luca Bassani, Wally's Chief Designer and CEO, started from scratch to create a unique and memorable work of art. Discover a futuristic yacht from the "SPACESHIP" range.

WALLYWHY150: A YACHT WITH THE CODES OF A FUTURISTIC SUPERYACHT

For Luca Bassani: "Designing a boat identical to the WallyWhy200, but three meters shorter, doesn't make much sense. The WallyWhy150 is therefore a yacht that re-exploits space, with particular attention paid to exterior areas. The aim is to maximize pleasure on board, by extending leisure areas. The owner's living space has also been redefined.

This sub-24-meter yacht offers spaces normally found only on even larger yachts. Indeed, the designers have drawn on a wide range of elements, such as the addition of large floor-to-ceiling bay windows to flood the modular main salon space with natural light. For its size, this is also the only yacht to feature an owner's suite forward.

The WallyWhy150 is a powerful boat. It is equipped with 3 Volvo Penta IPS1200 1000 HP engines as standard (IPS1350 optional), which propel a fast, gliding hull up to 23 knots, and 2 Seakeeper stabilizers. A layout that ensures great sailing comfort. Its range is around 4,000 miles at 20 knots, with the most powerful motorization.

EXTERIOR DESIGN WITH UNIQUE FEATURES

The WallyWhy150 was designed by Wally-Ferretti Group Engineering for the exterior, and Studio A. Vallicelli & C for the interior. It is the expression of a new style of yacht, now recognisable as a signature shape of Wally yachts, particularly with the addition of an imposing T-top. The iconic V-shaped hull also gives her the advantage over her competitors of maximising the volume on board.

On the flybridge, the terrace is sleek and functional. A U-shaped bench seat is well sheltered by the imposing carbon T-top, and can accommodate up to 8 people and 3 sunbeds. The T-top is one of the key features of this model, designed well before the bow, and helps to define the identity of the WallyWhy150. The dark green metallic hull colour is a nod to the WallyPower118, for their similarities at the bow.

The aft deck, in direct contact with the water, has been entirely designed in the style of a WallyTender. The Beach Club is huge and fully equipped for meals, with a bar and several fridges. The helm station is accessible via a small staircase, moved slightly downwards so as not to obstruct the view.

MASTERFUL INTERIOR DESIGN WITH TROMPE-l’œil

The CEO wanted a boat that would be pragmatic, where movement would be fluid and natural, to make getting to the sea as easy as possible. To achieve this, everything on the WallyWhy150 is on one level. From the bathing platform, through the solarium and dining room, to the steps leading to the saloon at mid-height.

On the main deck, the lower deck has a headroom of 2.5 metres, which is unusual for a yacht of this size. The space remains modular, with the saloon separated from the dining table by steps on either side. This design allows the saloon to blend in perfectly with the cockpit, offering a direct view of the sea.

The curved, 3-dimensional ceiling gives the effect of being under a dome. For its size, it's also the only model to feature a full-width Master Cabin forward, offering a 270-degree view of the sea. A wide bed also faces forward, creating an 'amphitheatre on the sea' effect. Access is to starboard, along a fully glazed corridor, giving the impression of being on an outside balcony.
